Reversible Ikat Jacket
A truly unique, double-sided jacket made from light and vividly coloured Ikat silk patchwork on one side, familiar cotton of rural Anatolia on the other. The clash between the exclusive, soft silk and the daily-wear floral cotton is what makes this piece so original and of course, a showstopper.
The Ikat technique is made not by printing patterns on silk, but instead weaving the silk yarn in different patterns.
Prior to weaving, the yarn is dyed in different colours depending on the design in mind. The varying colours of yarn will then be woven into a large piece of fabric.
