Ottoman Miniature of Toothache

£255.00
1 available

A mythological depiction of “toothache”, painted in the style of traditional Ottoman miniature, combined with calligraphy.

The artist Gonca Küçüksaraç adds depth to her work by painting on antique paper from the Ottoman Empire. The paper is collected from villages around Turkey, then treated for conservation. We don’t know what it says on the paper but we were told it is from a notebook of a school kid.

Material: Paint and Liquid Gold on Antique Paper (100+ years old)
Measures: 19 x 14cm
Notes: The paper has been treated and its condition stabilised | Fragile, handle with utmost care | Avoid contact with the gold sections as your fingerprints may transfer onto the painting | Gold will naturally oxidise in time - To keep your gold as shiny as possible, hang away from direct sunlight.
