Hand-crafted 'Beykoz Glass' Container
Ideal to use with olive oil or vinegar in the kitchen, as well as in the bathroom - for the more unconventional ones amongst us.
Traditionally made in a small district on the Asian side of Istanbul, this style of glass is characterised by its delicate surface decorations, usually made up of flowers and patterns with liquid gold.
Glass-making began in Beykoz in the late 18th century when a Mevlevi dervish, Mehmed Dede, opened an atelier in Beykoz and began producing a variety of decorative and functional glass objects. More on this on our Glossary.
